A Restrict Content Pro alternative for nonprofits

What actually happened to Restrict Content Pro

In May 2026, Liquid Web folded Restrict Content Pro into a bundle called Kadence Memberships. It was part of a wider consolidation that pulled several other plugins into the Kadence brand at once. The old restrictcontentpro.com site now redirects straight to Liquid Web’s Kadence page. You can’t buy the standalone plugin anymore. Getting the same content-restriction feature today means buying into Kadence Pro, at $299 a year. That bundle also throws in a page builder, a security suite, and backups, whether you want them or not.

What Nonprofit Manager does and doesn’t replace

Be clear-eyed here. Nonprofit Manager doesn’t gate content behind a membership level. Gating content was Restrict Content Pro’s entire reason for existing. Need to lock posts or pages behind a paid tier? Nonprofit Manager isn’t your tool. MemberPress and Paid Memberships Pro didn’t disappear the way Restrict Content Pro did, and either one still handles that job today.
