A church management software alternative on WordPress
Full church management platforms like Planning Center and Tithe.ly do a lot. Check-in stations. Volunteer scheduling. Service planning. Giving. Usually priced module by module. Nonprofit Manager doesn’t try to replace all of that. It’s a free WordPress plugin covering the core a lot of churches already pay for every month: members, giving, a newsletter, and events.
What the full platforms charge
Planning Center prices People free and unlimited. But Giving, Check-Ins, Services, and Groups are each billed separately on their own usage ladder, so your monthly total depends on how many modules you turn on. Tithe.ly bundles giving, management, an app, and a website builder into an All-Access plan listed around $119 a month. Either way, you often pay for features you don’t need to reach the ones you do.
What Nonprofit Manager covers, and what it doesn’t
Free and included: member tracking, one-time and recurring giving with no platform fee, a newsletter with open and click tracking, and an events calendar for services and gatherings.
Not included, and worth saying directly: check-in stations for kids’ ministry, volunteer scheduling, service planning and song libraries, small-group management tools. Core to how your church runs? A dedicated system still earns its price for that piece.
A combination that works
Some churches run Nonprofit Manager for members, giving, and the newsletter, then keep a lighter or free tier of a dedicated system just for check-ins or service planning. That way, nothing gets paid for twice.
